Where technique, artistry, and strategy meet

Meet Your Teacher

Kelly Gabrielle Murphy is a voice teacher and accomplished musical theatre performer. She has played some of the most iconic roles in the musical theatre canon, including starring as Tzeitel in the Broadway First National Tour of Fiddler on the Roof (directed by Tony Award-winner Bartlett Sher). Kelly holds a Master of Voice Pedagogy with a specialization in Musical Theatre Voice and Contemporary Commercial Music from Westminster Choir College, as well as a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre from the University of Miami.

Kelly is passionate about teaching vocal technique and providing coaching to performers throughout their journey - from emerging artists to seasoned professionals. Combining her pedagogy studies and performance expertise, Kelly gives her students a uniquely practical and well-rounded approach to vocal technique. She is also an ACT Practitioner (Acceptance & Commitment Therapy), specializing in helping students navigate and overcome performance anxiety.  She developed a masterclass called, "Stage Ready: Managing Performance Anxiety for Performers," where she teaches students tools to prepare them for performance.

In addition to her private studio, Kelly is a Voice Professor at the University of Miami and a Vocal Technique Coach with Broadway Kids Auditions. Kelly also serves on the committee for the National Musical Theatre Competition hosted by the National Association of Teachers of Singing.

Prior to teaching at UMiami, Kelly spent a year working for Broadway Producer Ken Davenport, where she served on the producing team for two Broadway shows —A Beautiful Noise and Harmony— and several pre-Broadway developmental works.

Kelly has pursued additional voice pedagogy training at Shenandoah University's CCM Vocal Pedagogy Institute, Rider's Vocal Pedagogy Institute, and Penn State's One Body/One Voice. She is a proud member of Actor's Equity Association, National Association of Teachers of Singing, and Musical Theatre Educators' Alliance.

Larry, Broadway Actor

I first met Kelly as a fellow performer. She played my wife in A Little Night Music. I was completely blown away by her incredible voice and rock solid technique. I soon started studying with her as a teacher. After a bought of Covid and RSV my voice was in pretty bad shape.  If one exercise wasn’t working for me she would find another. Kelly is patient and knowledgeable and was more than willing to adapt to my vocal needs. My voice flourished under her guidance. Kelly’s other great ability is picking apart a song, both dramatically and musically, to find the best breathing spots and modifications to certain words to make it the best it can be. My training with Kelly, which will continue as long as she teaches, has been nothing but positive, artistically creative and joyous.  I could not recommend her more highly.

Kylee, Professional Actor

Since I began both vocal and acting sessions with Kelly in December of 2024, I’ve felt such an intense shift in my self-confidence and the way I achieve my career goals as a professional actor. I first approached coaching with Kelly because I found myself feeling lost and stagnant after years of constant auditioning with limited to no results. With Kelly’s vocal techniques for maintaining breath support throughout a song, and her advice for connecting deeply with my audition materials, I feel increasingly more comfortable walking into an audition room. As a result of our sessions, I booked a show after 5 years of what felt like constant rejection. I am also noticing an increase in callbacks, including one that led me to NYC for the final round of auditions; Kelly was there for me every step of the way, which made the process all the more rewarding. She helped me to see that experience as a time of immense growth for me personally and professionally, and I will never forget her support and guidance during that extremely challenging time. Kelly has also taught me how valuable it is to maintain my vocal health, and I look forward to our vocal warmups in every session. Kelly has helped me achieve my dream as an actor, and I can’t wait to keep growing as her student!

Lexi, BFA Musical Theatre Major

Working with Kelly has truly helped me transform my voice and grow as an artist like never before. Her lessons are structured in a way that allows for the creation of attainable goals each week. She is caring of her students and goes the extra mile to provide guidance about vocal physiology/health and the professional theatre industry at large. I always feel prepared and excited to work after each lesson. Kelly has helped me find a new confidence in my voice and always pushes me to do my best work in a constructive and encouraging fashion. I highly recommend her to anyone looking to improve their vocal technique and develop as a singer and artist.
